Inbrix
Developer API v1 & Autonomous Agent Protocols

How to Integrate Inbrix

Everything you need to send mail from a custom domain, connect AI assistants through the Model Context Protocol (MCP) with 26 built-in tools, or process real-time events via webhooks.

REST

1. Authentication & API Scopes

All Inbrix REST endpoints and MCP connections require a scoped API token (ix_live_...) passed via the standard HTTP Authorization header:

Authorization: Bearer <INBRIX_API_TOKEN>

Available Token Scopes:

mail:send

Send mail, draft replies, and forward messages.

mail:read

Search mailboxes, read threads, fetch bodies, and download attachments.

admin

Manage custom domains, DNS verification records, sender aliases, and team members.

tasks:read / tasks:write

Programmatically create, assign, and organize workspace action items.

followups:read / followups:write

Inspect and resolve Follow-up Radar items awaiting replies.

ai:read / ai:generate

Generate executive briefs, thread summaries, and AI-assisted reply drafts.

Generate your token in Settings > API & Integrations.

POST /api/v1/emails

2. Sending Outbound Email

Deliver mail from a verified custom domain with DKIM and SPF alignment. Use POST /api/mail when the message needs attachments or thread headers.

curl -X POST https://app.inbrix.us/api/v1/emails \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer ix_live_YOUR_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{
    "from": "Acme <updates@yourdomain.com>",
    "to": "customer@example.com",
    "subject": "Your Order #1042 is Confirmed",
    "html": "<h1>Thank you</h1><p>Your package has shipped.</p>",
    "text": "Thank you. Your package has shipped."
  }'
GET /api/mail

4. Querying & Syncing Inboxes

Search, filter, and stream inbound mail into your database or AI processing pipelines.

Query Messages

GET https://app.inbrix.us/api/mail?limit=25&category=primary&unread=true

Incremental Sync Cursor (For Polling Bots & Agents)

Pass the last cursor to fetch only new or updated messages without fetching the entire inbox repeatedly:

GET https://app.inbrix.us/api/mail/sync?cursor=0:1790620000000:42
MCP 2024-11-05

5. AI Agent Integration (Model Context Protocol — 26 Tools)

Inbrix exposes a native Model Context Protocol (MCP) server with 26 built-in tools. Connect Claude Desktop, Cursor, Windsurf, or autonomous agent loops to read and send email, configure domains, verify DNS records, manage the calendar, and import an existing mailbox.

Universal Agent Configuration & Integration

Add to claude_desktop_config.json, Cursor Settings > MCP, or Windsurf mcp_config.json.
